Hungarian Baja

Hungarian Baja 2011: Route information.

Due to the unfavour weather of the past weeks we had to modify and – unfortunately – shorten the tracks. We have just found our final track in the last days which we are recovering and preparing continuously for the field of the HunGarian Baja. A vast amount of rain has came down and trees have been screwn off at the forestry roads. With our best knowledge, we indicated 3 stages for racing, we will clean these stages in the next two weeks from the swaging trees. We promise a special event on diverse terrain, with a perfect service park and a spectacular start ceremony.

Superspecial.
It is a 5,5 km long stage on forestry roads. The soil is earthy and sometimes grassy. The start and the finish of the stage is open to the spectators as well. There is a big jump at the middle of the stage and after it, the track becomes quicker and the competitors have to pass two smaller hills. In case of rainy weather mud tyre is recommended!

Start ceremony.
On Friday evening after the Superspecial, the field arrives one by one to the center of Győr to a closed road in front of the Mayor’s Office, where the start podium will be located. Lot of spectators can be expected on the Start Ceremony, because the famous Wine Festival of Győr will be held in the same time as well.

SS1/SS3.
This 39 km long special stage starts from the suburb of Győr. The beginning is gravel, later it becomes earthy and grassy and speedy stage. Most parts lead through agricultural territories, but also a few forestry part is included. Tight bridges can be expected which we will indicate with ribbon to ensure the safe and easy crossing. In case of rainy weather mud tyre is recommended!

SS2/SS4/SS6.
This special, very diverse stage starts from 27km from Győr from the brink of a village. At the beginning a forestry part can be expected, while after a long straight part and the only asphalt crossing, after a smalller agricultural territory with multiple road surface change, we arrive on sand to a village where we apply speed control for a ca. 300 m long part for safety purposes.
After the end of the speed control, one of the most spectacular spectators’ point arrives: crossing a tight bridge. Strong attention has to be paid here to exclude the pressure from the rave of the fans and to avoid any mistake From this place an earthy road appears again and we pass through at the bottom of a forest and later we drive in the forest till an ascent inclination. We apply again a speed control at the bottom of the inclination, to not to destroy the electrical fence next to the road. From here again a beautiful forestry part arrives, and with a sudden change a long, speedy gravel road appears until the side of a motocross track, where beautiful view welcomes the entrants. After a subsequent forestry part the last spectators’s point appears, with a left hairpin and we spin along almost till the finish in beautiful forestry roads. You can not relax at the straight part before the finish, because there is a dangerous part at the end, but we will improve it till the event. This stage may appear very long if it does not have its rhythm, however it is 48 kms long. In case of rainy weather mud tyre is recommended!

SS5/SS7.
This 40 km long stage starts from 25km distrance from Győr. The beginning is gravel, later grassy and earthy, speedy and energetic stage. Most parts lead through agricultural territories, but also a few forestry part is included. Tight bridges can be expected which we will indicate with ribbon to ensure the safe and easy crossing. In case of rainy weather mud tyre is recommended!

The conjunctive stages are asphalt surfaces in all cases and the routes contain petrol stations and car washing facilities. On the territory of the service park the washing and refuelling is not allowed. We indicate Washing and Refuelling zones for such purposes.
The finish and the Finish ceremony will be held at ETO Park.
